Divine Power Excerpts: Feats

Some interesting things here.

Looks like the Invoker gets two Builds:

Covenant of Preservation and Covenant of Malediction. We knew about the latter, but not the former. Also, judging by the little blurb on the feat, Preservation's power is going to involve sliding an ally (but that ally grants CA unless you take the feat).

Paladins get some new things too. A power called Call of Virtue and Ardent Vow. My guess are that these are class features.

"Resurgent Attack Str 17 Gain +2 to attacks after you spend a healing surge"

Like this one, Dwarf Paladins say YAY! I really hope there is some love for STRaladins in that book. I was runing a DMPC to fill gaps and ran a low CHA and INT (so he/she didn't take over as parties voice) DBorn STRaladin, but he/she really sucked LOL

I like the feats that power up Channel Divinity instead of just giving more (typically lousy) options for it.

Honored Foe is probably pretty sweet.

New builds appear to be:

Whatever cleric build gets Healer's Mercy.
Malediction Invoker.
Censure of Unity Avenger.
Ardent Vow Paladin.

Hmmm, I just noticed the lack of race prerequisite feats in the list. Do you think:

1. The list of feats is not complete.
2. WotC has decided that feats with class and race as prerequisites are too specific and has decided to stop using them.
3. WotC is saving them for the race books.

2. WotC has decided that feats with class and race as prerequisites are too specific and has decided to stop using them.

I sincerely hope this might be the case. I'm fed up of cracking a book open to see 50 feats of which only 10 are even allowed because of race and class prereqs.

:(

I'll bet with the only-showing-a-few camp. WOTC seems to be trying hard to use race and class feature choice to differentiate the same class choice. So a Deva assault swordmage should be very different from an eladrin shielding one.

Yes, sometimes I do find it annoying, but at least multiclassing can get through the class prerequisite (at least sometimes), though so far the race is a stone wall. But I am glad in many ways that there is this separation, as it cuts cherry-picking down a lot and makes for a wider variety of builds in classes.

If all feats were equally available, different builds of the same class would look far mroe similar than they do now.
