Divine power - Trying to figure this out

Divine power says:

"Your base attack bonus becomes equal to your character level (which may give you additional attacks),....."

So here's my question - I've got a 7th level cleric with a normal BAB of +5. According to this spell does his BAB become a +7 or does it become +6/+1?

Thanks.

Really? So it hasn't changed from 3.0 (ie., receive the BAB of a fighter of your same level), they just reworded it to enhance confusion. Nice.

+7/+2, to be pendantic.

The BAB is presented very badly. Your BAB is a single number; to determine if you have multiple attacks, subtract 5 from your BAB, and take the positive result as your next attack.

3.0 monks made this more confusing than it really needs to be, but the system really is rather simple.
