Divine Trickster?

Well the game in question came about and I ended up letting the character take Burlew's creation without modification. The other characters are all quite powerful and the rogue cleric was the least effective in combat yesterday. We'll see how it goes as things progress though.

if Arcane spells weren't overall better than Divine ones RAW(Core) then why did they maintain the cleric's good armor,HD,and still add in bonus Domain spells/powers??

Ask the designers. I think part of the answer is that they want clerics to be powerful so people don't hesitate to use the class and the party has a decent healer.

In a way, you're right: Arcane spells are better. In some areas. Other areas are dominated by divine casters.

Plus consider the rogue 3/cleric 3 vs. the cleric 6.

I'm not sure that's the right comparison. It should be some levels more so divine trickster kicks in, and, of course, the Practised Spellcaster.

Sure. Clerics are great buffers. But I still think arcane spells will do a lot better here (good ranged touch attacks with the orb spells, web, etc.)

The divne trickster has to wade into melee, but he has no problem with that: He can wear heavy armour and use a shield with impunity, he can enhance his armour and weapon with magic, and can buff himself to be a powerhouse. Str can go up quite a bit (+6 with divine power - which will also grant a full attack bonus for all levels! - and +4 for righteous might), and don't forget divne favour. I think the only thing more scary than a cleric is a cleric with sneak attack.
