DM gone crazy?

My DM/friend asked me to bring my old character for the upcoming session. For some details, he is a sorcerer 18/rogue 3 with a modified half-demon template (27 ELC) and I'm suppose to add 15 levels for the fifty years that passed in the campaign world. My question is: What should I add?

You're creating an ECL42 character? Whatever you like, I guess is the answer. A couple of barbarian levels and then rage mage might be a nice suprise; or the half-demon paladin/sorcerer/rogue sounds good too

More sorcerer levels for sure.

What kind of character are you looking for?
The kind that can disappear from battle for a few rounds, having the enemy think he ran away, then reappear with a knife sticking out of someone's back.

Rage mage, I like the sound of that.

I'd split those extra levels between Sorcerer and Rogue. You could use the extra spells known and spells per day, and it sounds like your style really cries out for more sneak attack dice. :D

Shadowdancer is good at that.

Take 15 levels of Ninja. If your Wisdom isn't good enough (I assume your Charisma is) take Imp roved Unarmed Strike (to qualify) and Ascetic Mage. Great AC, turn invisible, and 8d6 Sudden Strike.

Or, if Book of Nine Swords is allowed, become a swordsage and focus on the Shadow Hand discipline.

I don't have the books that has Shadow Hand discipline nor the ninja. Shadowdancer would fit perfectly, and I already qualify for it. Alright, I have a general idea what class(es?) I'll take, thanks.
