DM or GM?

Should the arbiter of D&D games be titled the DM or something else?

How has nobody mentioned the fact that one of the core rulebooks has always been called the Dungeon Master's Guide since 1979?

Are we to be referring to the 5th edition "GMG?" Pfah.

Seeing as how "DM" is currently leading all other poll options by a total score of 160-33 I think the term is safe for a while yet. :)

Dungeon Master is certainly the most appropriate term for those who run the many "Mother-may-I" games which I have endured. Where half the party struggles by with little gold and almost no magic, while the favoured players enjoy broken third-party classes, races and artifacts.

wow, I'm surprised by the poll results.

I figured it would be GM in a land-slide, and its actually DM in a land slide.

I think GM makes more sense since some adventures do not take place in a dungeon, but all adventures take place in a game.

Plus I never liked the DM from the D&D cartoon.
