I answered don't know, but highly unlikely is probably the answer. I don't (and probably won't) DM 3.5 anymore, though I still play. I prefer to DM older editions of (A)D&D, though I'll certainly be DMing other d20 fantasy games in the future, notably Conan, and I will be giving Thieve's World, The Black Company, and Blue Rose (minus the setting) a look.

One DMG is enough.

Always was.

Sure, in a perfect world where that single DMG covers everything that everyone would like to see in it. I've always felt that I'd enjoy seeing even more of a good thing, which the first DMG was. The info we've seen concerning DMG II indicates it has a lot of stuff that I'd've liked to have seen in the DMG. When WotC released Unearthed Arcana, I figured it was something of a combo DMG/PHB II kind of thing, and was very happy with it. If the DMG II is anywhere close to as good as UA, it's gonna make me even more happy.

I am probably going to get it a I like 'prep reducing" material -- Heck my favorite PDF purchase was "And Everyone Else" so I am shoe in

Wow. . . when one thinks of it like that, we all have a rediculous amount of ruleage at our fingertips, most of which, will never see the light of gameplay. . .sigh. Fun to read though!

yeah -- I have tons of web material -- never used-- PDF's I bought and buckets of books I never use -- D&D/D20 is liek that though -- its gets you one (or more) or three ways "Gotta have it cause we might/do use it" "Oh shiney! It must be MINE!" and "This one will help reinvigorate my game for sure"

I answered no, but that answer is subject to change. Right now, I don't see that I need it, and I have way too much on my plate to read, both in RPG materials and otherwise.

However, I'll listen to people scream and holler about, here and elsewhere, and keep an open mind.

Not only no, but HELL NO!!!
Not with 24 years gaming experience (most of which is in the GM seat), ownership of the 1st ed. DMG, 2nd ed. DMG, 3.0 ed. DMG, 3.5 ed. SRD and all the "Basic" boxed sets. Plus a two years worth subscription to Dragon Magazine with other odd Dragon issue purchases (namely the "Best of" anthologies) among other RPG system rulebooks.
What can a DMG2 offer me that I haven't seen addressed somewhere else or can't figure out how to handle on my own without an official sacrosanct "rule" telling me how to handle things in my campaign.
I may check it out in a bookstore, but I definately have no need or desire for it.

This thread prompted me to hop over to the WotC site and check out the previews. This book actually looks a lot cooler than I thought it was going to be. It's like a random collection of wacky DM stuff... just like the 1e DMG! :D

I'll keep my eye peeled for reviews and maybe wait to get a good deal.

Aside from the core books - I have not purchased any WOTC books sight unseen. This is the exception. Yeah, I'm an old grognard who has been in it from the beginning, but this looks like a fun read. I hope I can glean a couple of tips from it or at least get a little inspired. If it disappoints me I'll sell it, but I'm looking forward to it right now.
