I realize its "tipping my hand," but I only describe treasure items fully if it:
1) matters
2) is a red herring.
IOW, most of the stuff I'll hand out will just be generic coinage or treasure...but if I spend time describing it to my players, it means something, or I want them to think it means something.
Occasionally, my players will take something mundane and MAKE it matter, much like the aforementioned Galadorean belt buckle...
