I was just flipping though the channels and on Cold Pizza, the ESPN morning show, the had a little feature on DnD. It was very positive. They did not say much, WOTC is promoting it for the 30th anniversary. It was geared to try and get new players to the game.

Wow, we made espn? That's pretty darn big since it's not only a well respected cable channel, but people actually watch it. :D

30th anniversary of D&D? Damn, have I been playing that long - it seems not that long ago there was the 25th anniversary. Has 5 years gone that quickly?

At any rate, good to see some postive tube time for D&D. And I am still shaking my head about playing for 30 years now. That means that I have been playing longer than some on these boards have been alive.

Just call me Gramps, I guess.... :p

We'll know we've really arrived when they start showing footage of GenCon Tournament Games on ESPN2. It wouldn't be any less wack than some of the other "sports" they show on there. :)

Like when they ran the MtG pro-tour on ESPN2?

I didn't realize they had broadcast that but it doesn't really surprise me. I am amused by the notion of the commentators running down the stats of the PC's:

"Coming into today's adventure, Keremor the Brave is looking UNstoppable! With that new +3 Plate Mail, his AC is quite respectable and he's averaging 24 points of damage per round on a Full Attack. If the dice are kind to him today, don't be surprised to see him gain a level AND walk away with a lot of nominations for Party MVC!"
