Welcome!!!

Withought further babling here it comes:

What would be the DnD stats for the machete???

I am thinking military type combat machetes here......

I am toying with 2 choices:

1) Short sword stats

2) Scimitar stats

And could anyone provide a picture od what a fantasy machete (say used by hobgoblins) might look like???

The machete strikes me as more of a chopping weapon then a slicing weapon, I'd be inclined to stat it as a hand axe or the like with 1d6 damage and 20/x3 criticals. But that's just me.

I just want to say.

machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete ,machete ,machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete, machete.

Back on topic here folks....

Alas the machete would be used as a hobgoblin weapon.....

Chopping and slicing......

I wonder what a 2-handed version would be like....

But.....

Back on topic.....post what stats would be best....

And if someone can point me to where i could get a image.....or post one themselves....would be mega cool......

I've seen machetes that you can use two-handed, but never one so big that you need two hands for it. So, I'd call an oversize machete equivalent to a battleaxe: Medium size, 1d8 damage, crit x3.

Wielding two-handed would be rather pointless for a standard hobgoblin, since they have no Strength bonus. An exceptionally strong one could wield with two hands if he felt like it, in order to get the 1.5x damage mod.
