Do displacement, mirror image, and blink all stack?

I think in my game I'd allow displacement to work on mirror image, but that image is itself a figment, and therefore subject to being dispelled if struck. In other words, the image is displaced, but it provides no practical bonus since if the percieved image is struck, then the figment is destroyed.

So I'm back to blink, plus either displacement or mirror image, but not both.

P.S. discussing RAW is one thing, but in actual practice I give very little credence to the FAQ or sage advice. You could say that I have a house rule that states these sources are not allowed in my game.

So what IS the effect of mistargeting a spell? It doesn't work.

So hitting all of someone's mirror images with a magic missile would result in a single missile that strikes the caster, right?

That's what I do.

And if they don't go one-for-one - maybe they target one with two missiles and one with three - I'd randomly determine if each target was an image (invalid target) or the caster (valid target).

And of course, the one who gets hit by a missile is obviously the real caster, so anyone observing knows which one is which until the caster next gets a chance to move, and thus merge and split from the remaining images.

EDIT: Nevermind, my post was the sound and furry of restating the question as an answer, signifying nothing.

Ain't no friendship here, it's just one big cycle here.
Round, round we go. Round, round we go.

How can they know that? It says that "The figments mimic your actions, pretending to cast spells when you cast a spell, drink potions when you drink a potion, levitate when you levitate, and so on." So how can they tell by looking which one was hit by a missile and which ones are just mimicking being hit by a missile?

hmm... You could target half of the images, and if the images all flinch you tell your allies "Ignore the wizards on the left!"; and if the images are unaffected you say "Ignore the wizards on the right!" (Until the caster next gets a chance to move etc.)

The presence or absence of a glowing dart of energy?

Not a valid target? No missile.
