Do eladrin player characters count as fey for spells like Detect/Dispel/Protection from Evil and Good?

I think the biggest take away from https://www.sageadvice.eu/2018/10/2...-detect-dispel-protection-from-evil-and-good/ is that if they [playable races] had a different creature type, they would have a trait that said so.

The answer is: Playable elves are humanoid. Some of their kin are fey.

The playable eladrin in "Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes" are an elf subrace and are therefore humanoid. If they had a different creature type, they would have a trait that said so.

No. Unlike 4E, they do not have the fey sub-type even though all elves have the fey ancestry feature.
