Do stances end when you are knocked unconscious?

We had this come up during our last session.

The DM and I thought we had read something saying stances end when you are unconscious. Another player maintained that it doesn't actually say that anywhere.

I checked PHB1 and found the section on powers that says stances end at the end of the encounter or when you take another stance. The other player checked the compendium glossary, which says the same.

Are the DM and I imagining it, or is there something elsewhere that says stances end when you fall unconscious? If so, where?

Stances only end when the encounter ends or when you use another Stance. You and you DM might be getting Stances confused with the playtest rules for Barbarian Rages.

I am not sure of the rule as written, but I would suggest in this case, letting the player use the stance when they wake up.

Why? if the player was unconsious, the fight is probably challenging enough. And it will be more fun for the player.
