Do you buy D&D Minis?

Really, my reply should be : Not any more. I already own hundreds of painted minis I bought years ago when they were still really made of lead-tin and such. I painstakingly painted them and they're all in scale with each other, etc...

I don't need or like the current minis much, so I don't buy them.

I pick up cheap ones to use for RPGs, but I rarely play the minis game.

I've got a healthy thud of minis. I picked up the Colossal Red with some gift certificates at Christmas, and it may very well be the last one I get.

When they first came out, I bought one or two packs from each set. But I eventually wearied of it. Never getting the ones I wanted was one thing, the random aspect. I was also severely underwhelmed by the overall quality. As it stands now, I haven't bought a set in about two and a half years.

Never played the skirmish game, and never even heard of anyone playing it in my area. I only ever used them in the RPG. But, even that was a long while ago. The last DM used my DDMs occasionally, but the current one doesn't, having plenty of lead minis of his own.

I said the second one, but I really only have one, and that is Aspect of Tiamat.

I would like to buy more, but some of the ones that I want for RPG's I might play in the future are just too expensive because they have been out of print for so long, and are only available on the secondary market.

I'm hoping with the new set coming out in the next few months we get some more generic Humans and Elves of various classes.

I only buy singles, carefully selected for my games (generally avoiding the rares due to the cost), and only use them in my tabletop games - never played DDM.

I voted "never", although i own a few from the basic game. I use counters.

I picked up a boatload of them through the Deathknell series. We used them almost exclusively while playing D&D. We did play one or two games of DDM with them. The game we did play alot of was the Star Wars minis game.

I have them all so far (well minus the con exclusives).
I only use them for the rpg. When we play a minis game we play Heroscape.

I have about 1 of each of the first few boosters. Love them for the RPG.
