Planescape Do You Care About Planescape Lore?

Do You Care about Planescape Lore?

It's for emphasis, I have seen others do it (else I wouldn't). It's like italicising, in situations where italicising isn't an option for whatever reason.

Well, Italicise, don't follow silliness, the rest of the world will think you're a jagaloon, and have no idea what you are trying to get across, except for forward slashes (means nothing in English banter).

I honestly don't care if the core rules include Planescape material at all....I just hope we get an updated Planescape Campaign Setting or Box Set. Then again I also hope all references to the Spellplague are completely excised from the FR line (Halaster wakes up and it was all a bad dream), so I realize I most likely wont get what I hope for.

Hey, don't use me for your bizarre, yet, transparent agenda.

If you want to play a D&D campaign, sans D&D lore (I do it all the time), go for it, ain't nothin' stopin' ya.

From where I am reading, that statement means nothing, what are you actually saying?

And what is with this X/X/...means nothing to me, is this some sort of new vernacular I am not aware of, 'cause it sure ain't English (no punctuation I've ever seen).

Just putting these two together. Complaining about someone's punctuation while writing like this made me giggle.

But, as far as my "transparent agenda", which I'm not sure is bad, since a transparent agenda would be open to anyone and clear, my point is that there are a group of Planescape fans who have repeatedly beaten the drum that Planescape uber alles and we must keep the lore pure. Since you fit that bill perfectly with numerous posts denigrating any change to Planescape lore, not because it happens to be bad, but, simply because it's not Planescape, you fit the criteria perfectly.

So, again, thank you for being such a perfectly transparent example today.

1) Punctuation (it's called dialect, Americana), what on earth are you on about now? The attempted snide "giggle" part is just daft.

2), No, cheap, crusading, transparent agendas are always bad; you're gonna lose on that one, son.

3) I am not transparent, at least I don't hide behind shrouded condescension, but, I suppose, you will get away with your rampant agenda on these boards.

Anyway, I obviously hit a nerve, because you are well aware of what you are doing (and it seems supported by these boards...).

Weather Report, what hiding am I doing? I made no secret that I don't like Planescape. Heck, that's pretty darn clear from the original post. I've also made it pretty clear that I do not think that any setting specific material should be included in core. I've also made it clear that I do not consider Planescape to be anywhere near the default setting material for any edition of D&D. So, what hiding am I doing?

I think that Planescape lore is not sacrosanct nor privileged in any way. If changing it makes things more interesting, then it gets the chop. If keeping it is more interesting, then it stays. It lives or dies on its own merits. That it came before, is not, IMO, a merit. It's canon for canon's sake.

As far as the giggle goes, the fact that you have numerous spelling mistakes in your criticism of someone else's punctuation makes me giggle. But, hey, don't let me stope you now. You keep right on.

1) Under-the-bridge dwelling, of course.

2) First of all, being a spelling/grammar/punctuation Nazi, is the last bastion of a message board loser, and those were intentional, to portray inflection. "y'all, ain't, gonna" etc, etc...

You use that word a lot. I don't think it means what you think it means. ;)

Having clearly visible, transparent, understandable views and discussing them politely and respectfully is the point of a discussion board, surely? If we don't have opinions and express them there's not that much to talk about.

We accept that you don't like a lot of pre-4e planar material, and that's fine. But let's try to keep things from being personal.

Also, didn't you politely bow out of this thread pages back?

I think the vulgarity of the other party deserves a sterner reaction than mine.
