Humans, humans, humans. I played them back in 2E, when they got jack. Humans are, hands down, the coolest race in D&D. They represent the everyman. They're the leaders, and it's nice to be playing a good human instead of the mediocre-to-bad people who really exist.

umm..... yeah. sure. i'm going to go....over here now....bye.

I've played a human, and elf, and an aasimar. I tend to like human and elf. I can see myself playing half elves(especialy if they improve em in 3e). I'd really like to try a Gnome some time. things like Aasimar and Half-Celestial interest me to

90% of the time I go human. Then I do a bit of dwarf and before 3e, 1/2 elf. In 3e I would never go 1/2 elf. Seems you get the worst of both races being a 1/2 elf:(

I agree about the half elf being a bad, statwise, race. There is another thread floating around that says along the same lines. anyway, I always play human. It just turns out that way. I like the idea of the normal mundane fighting against a world of chaotic magic and monsters. That line seems to blur with me when I play other races.. maybe I'm just nuts :)

I don't get to play anywhere near often enough to have a dominant race preference, but at one of my players has gone with nothing but a kobold for the past two or three years (and even then, his prior preferences were gnolls and kobolds).

I only play drow ninja anti-paladins of the God of blood and depravity. Oh wait.. that's not true, I'm not a 14 year old boy. I tend to play human or half-elves, and some times dwarves. Currently I'm playing a dwarf, in a predominately elf party, and they all like to mock me endlessly. I'm thinking about quitting the game. Taking it in good stride only goes so far. I used to just kinda laugh at elf-lovers, now I am starting to loathe them, thanks to these idgits. I personally don't see the appeal of elfs, but I have nothing against them. In my campaign world, their culture is particularly detailed. If I could find a DM that would let me, I'd try playing someing exotic and unusual, but I've never been able to convince anyone. Not even when I wanted to play an air genasi , in a campaign where the elements played a strong role in the world. I'm gonna plead with my current DM to let me play a Minotaur according to the Savage Spiecies rules. Here's hoping.

I almost always play a human. It doesn't matter the game or genre. D&D? Human. Starwars? Human. Traveller? Human. When I used to play Everquest? Human.

I just like 'em.

Although I do have secret desire to play a gnome... ;)
