Yeah, good clarification.

Hmm ... DMing vs. being a player .... sounds like another poll!

I was going to ask the same thing.
I GM/DM D&D and two different modern urban fantasy games using the Hero System both set in the same world and just about 30 miles or so between the settings. (Not that anyone cared ;) )
What I don't get to do very often is be a player. When I occasionally do it's when I'm playing in a RPGA game. I would *love* to be able to play more but I don't have anymore time to GM.

Speaking of RPGA: If you're in the north Texas area we're putting together plans for regular RPGA events. The discussion board is located here:

I voted "Other".

We get together every two weeks, but the game never seems to happen. I just changed careers after recovering from a near-fatal disability for the last couple years, and the new job has me working some pretty serious overtime. My wife is an Underwriter, which is even more time and energy intensive. Our other players all work in service or medical industries... so by the time we all assemble, no one makes characters for new campaigns, no one bothers to get underway, and everyone just wants to talk. So I've pretty much gotten used to getting together to not game.

Our group kinda broke up so I have only been doing my role-playing via two pbem campaigns (Amber and 3rd ed). So my role-playing is only about once a month for each (one turn each month, with emails throughout) but I still feel like I am getting enough gaming.

I started playing 40K regularly again (like every Friday night - my night away from the family). Also started playing Battlefleet Gothic, and am looking into Fantasy.

It's just another way to get together with the guys at the local game store and shoot the breeze. I've found that is more and more of what I am doing, play a game, sit around a table and bs.

I voted that I'm not getting enough gaming action, but am gaming regularly. I would like to game more often than the current 1.5 to 2 games a week, but I can't really imagine finding the time for it as it stands.

Sigh... So much game... so little time.

A challenging combo, indeed. I assume you've posted notices at your game shops to try to recruit players?

I have indeed. Since roughly the first of the year, I've gotten a total of one response. I'm currently planning another round of fliers to put up at three different shops.

I'm getting tons of gaming action, but it is not the type i'm looking for...

I get to game maybe six or seven times a month, on average, between two groups. It's probably enough, but a friend is starting a game at a local hobby shop, a couple hours one night a week. I'll probably dig for that too.

Merlion, if you're in Indy, check out the Game Preserve. They maintain a binder of local gamers that you can call if you're still looking.

I play weekly, DMing for a group of longtime friends. We've played just about everything together, from D&D to quarters.

I would play every night, but that would require another group and a divorce lawyer.

So once a week is all I can afford.
