Do You Have 'Enough' Minis?

No. I'd love to someday have 1-5 of the rarer monsters I like to use (Beholders, various dragons, Mindflayers, various undead, etc), and 15+ of the monsters I tend to use alot (orcs, various mook undead, drow).

I'm not really hurting for minis... but at least one frickin' beholder would be nice

When the revolution comes, I'll be able to use my old Grenadier, Heritage and Ral Parthas to melt down to make my own bullets! And I'll STILL have plastic minis to play RPGs with!

See, with me, i'd rather be shot by the enemy than melt down my beloved metal minis...especially the ones i painted!

I have a ton of plastic and metal minis, more than i need...and it's not enough. For an upcoming game i needed some aboleths, and as any gamer knows a good aboleth mini is hard to come by, at least until later next year.

So...i made my own. It was easier than it looks, and i had the time. Thank God for no kids and a long holiday weekend!

I have none, and that's more than enough for me.

I try not to obsessively collect much that I'm not going to actually use, and minis fall into that realm. Still, I can't say I don't sympathize with those who don't think they ever have enough with some of my other things....

I'm getting to the point were I have most of what I "think" I need, in terms of common monsters, and even the rarer monsters. I actually made a list of monsters I should have in order to run most campaigns. Even once I finish that list I'll keep an eye out for the occasional mini that catches my eye. There are plenty of "boss" type monster that I'll always be wanting an upgrade for.

I'm not buying nearly as many as I used to though, and the DDM's are less and less appealing. I've bought as many of the commons and uncommons as I want from that line, so now I'm back to just metal.

I've controlled my collector mentality, so I don't buy just to have them, I only buy the ones that I'll use...and I've got probably 70% or more of that list taken care of.

Speaking of which, i need a good Goblin King. I searched Reaper but didn't find what i was looking for. Ideally something fatter than the regular goblins, even man-sized. But slovenly. With a crown. Any suggestions?

I'm in the process of 'cleaning house'. I just unloaded a few RPG books that I was unlikely to ever use again and will shortly be going through my DDM collection to seperate those the UGT can use from those that are overly repeatative and getting rid of the excess. So, while I wouldn't say I 'have enough', I will say that I 'have too many that are of little worth'. For my PCs I like to paint my own. For monsters, sure I'll be looking at the new set. We'll see.
