Do YOU have "personal" dice?

I was just wondering if anyone else was like me, and had a set of dice that no one else was allowed to touch, and had another specifically for others to use if they need? I've noticed a few others do it, I was just wondering if anyone else was as anal as me about it (Touch my dice, yer liable to lose an arm). So? What about YOUR dice?

My answer is that I sometimes do. When I play an RPG I don't mind sharing my dice and I don't have any "personal" dice. But I also play the Warlord CCG (they've got advertising banners here now by the way) and in that game I need a d20. I NEVER let people touch my d20. I have no less that 18 green d20s that I carry with my decks and NOBODY is allowed to touch them but me. Oddly, if I carry them to an RPG, though, I don't mind sharing them.

Actually, all my dice are personal. No one touches them, really. But that's typically because if they do, it seems to curse their dice to consistently roll 1's.....
:)

When I was a preteen/teen, I used to have several sets of 'lucky' dice.

Now I'm not too picky.

As I was the GM, I used to have a goldfish bold full of dice so I could roll out those magic missiles and fireballs in good old basic D&D with the old 30d6 points of damage and other greatness from the old Immortals boxed set. Ah, if only I had saved those boxes, much of that material might still be around.

I still have a lot of those old dice mind you, but now they're hidden in various areas to keep me from stepping on them.

I tend to use a lot of Chessex dice these days. I really like some of those spliced colors they have. At times I wish I had more cash for those semi-precious gemstone dice, but I really can't justify spending book money on dice that I'd probably be too afraid to use.

I can't tell if that's a shot at me or not :-) But then again, I'm 19, so I'm still a teen, right? My preferred set of dice is this purty swirly grey with red numbers chessex set my g/f got me, combined with 6 d6's that I've had for years. Then theres the bag full of large amounts of other dice, that are free domain, so long as i get them back

I have several sets of "personal" dice - or rather, I'd keep finding better sets so they would get "promoted" - but I never could quite let anyone use any of my "personal" dice.

I have a bunch of "standard" sets I give out to anyone who needs them.

I also have a set of DM dice that only I use as DM - including my twin black dice of death - d20s that I bought after I picked them out of the tray at the hobby store and rolled them - in full view of a few of my players, and they both came up 20s. Call me superstitious, but I bought them on the spot.

And my players always dreaded my rolling them. Because on occasion they would come up with those twin 20s...

I now have my dice stored in a huge ziplock bag - with some sub-sets of dice either in nice cloth bags or in smaller ziplock bags. I have probably too many dice. But I wouldn't give up any of them. They all have a story - I can almost map my progression of characters and gaming in general by going through my dice-bag. From the heavily battered dice from my basic set back in 1980 to my really cool, smooth, marbled dice I bought soon after playing 3E. (with some other game systems in between - most notably shadowrun, which gave me multiple sets of medium-small "fireball" sets of 36 d6).

Huh. I probably have six full sets of dice, a bunch of extra d20s (for rolling saves for characters that don't know they need to be saving, or for rolling multiple attacks at once), and a block of d6s. And anyone at the table is welcome to freely use them, so long as they give them back. I'd say most of our group would be like that, too. Sort of a "what do you need?" mentality.

I use a d20 a got in the original TORG boxed set. It's a nice mixed red and purple colour and about 13 years old.
I've never rolled as many natural 20s on any other dice than I have with this one.

Nope, I don't even own any dice I just borrow others. Apart from one set of white D6s I have never found any to be particulaly lucky or unlucky. Those white D6s are just evil though, they never role higher than a 3 for anybody.

My absolute faves are my Chessex Borealis ones....purty :) But all my dice, as said before, are personal....(sigh) My babies.....
