Do you have to wield the luck blade to get the +1 to saves and the power of good fortune?

Or can you have it in your backpack or on your side and still get the benefits?

I just want to be certain before I buy one.

Well, it says "possessor" instead of "wielder" like other weapons do, guess it does help you then, if it is only carried, but not wielded.

I agree. It's a little like a Stone of Good Luck, which also uses the term "possessor".
