Do You Kill off your PC's.

Frequently and with much joy.

But the Rezzes also flow as fast as the PCs can afford/cast them.

They've only run into a problem last session as the Rogue/Rgr/Ftr/OotBI went scouting without nearby backup, and got mauled and mostly looted. Now the real problem is that the PCs can't true rez her, as they are out of diamonds, and the plan they are in has no jewels and time passes at 1/8760th the speed as in the Prime. So if they take the time to leave the realm and get her rezzed, it will be nearly a year before they get back and can try to recover the rest of her stuff or kill the bad guy. Oh the pain of level loss when on the cusp of 21st level... Muahahahaha!

I was just curious how many of you DM's or GM's or however you want to put it, actually kill off your PC's.
I agree with Flexor; I don't kill the PCs, the dice do :]

However...

I know a lot of DM's that will fudge the results often or come up with some strange circumstances to keep the PC's alive, but how many of you are cold hearted enough to just let them die.
...like Stormborn, I try not to kill them if they are in a speed-bump encounter that gets nasty due to bad rolls on thier part or good rolls on mine (I'm the DM). However, if they are asking for it, I have at them. No pity for that bit :D

I myself have had at least 3 characters in our current campaign die and made the players create new ones.
I haven't killed off any PCs yet, but you never know what might turn up

When I DM, I don't have PCs that would be "Mine".

When I DM, if PCs die, they die. There are enough ways to bring back PCs (raised, reincarnation and whatnot) or create new ones to not be too bothered about some deaths occuring in the game.

Do I try to kill PCs, no.

Do I let the dice fall where they may and kill PCs, somtimes.

Why?
Because I like to see the PCs kill themselves. After the first time I saw an experienced player charge an ogre and expect to win, I just couldn't get enough.

I don't go out of my way to kill them, but I don't go out of my way not to kill them either. Most of the time I let the dice fall where they may, especially at higher levels when resurrection magic is available. Now, if it's something stupid like rolling a 1 while trying to jump across a chasm, I'll let them make a Reflex save in order to grab onto the ledge, and if they fail that I'll just plain fudge it and say that they make it with a little bit of damage.

The PC's mostly kill themselves

Be it awful tactics, greed or sheer stupdity, all seems to get them in the end

Very few 'heroic deaths' IIRC

But no TPK in the last 4 years of my current group either
