Do you let anime influence your game?

Anime influences my campaigns all the time. Just listen to how it's effected my Forgotten Realms campaign:

Ok, that got a bigass grin from me :D

I'm setting up a rather non standard game right now using a mix of WW: Mage and BESM2 rules. It's influenced heavily by everything from HackSign and Lain to Card Captor Sakura. Especially Card Captor Sakura :D

If so, what anime has been an influence? Personally, I'm a big fan of both Vampire Hunter D movies(although the 2nd, Bloodlust, is much more visually appealing than the first), and the anime "Amon Saga" which I picked up by chance when I worked at the flea market last year just seems to SCREAM "D&D!" to me.

Any others?

Depends, I seen a few of them sometimes I do some bits, our DM doesn't like it when you play the name of the Anime Character if your going to us the name your going to have to earn the name or you will be screwed.

Nope - it doesn't. Then again, the folks I play with (myself included) are not that much into anime as a hobby (random watching here and there among us, sure, but as a separate interest, na)

Directly? Nah. Indirectly? Probably.

Mind you, since Lodoss War is an anime based on a series of novels that in turn were based on a D&D game the author ran when he was younger, I'm not sure I'd claim it as an 'anime' influence, per se. The only reason they eventually went and made their own system was TSR was in 'the dark time', and had no desire to license or get involved.

Beserk has had an influence, I'm sure, as well as some of anime's style in general. Movies like Arion and Kamui are in there, I'm sure.

It influences the characters I create heavily, but in games I DM, it never does. All my players have an Animedar that alerts them to it and makes them hate any games that involve it. :(

I'm planning to make them play D20 BESM at gunpoint if need be.:D

Lodoss war: I use those little beserker spirits a fair amount. In fact, a Normal Barbarian has one 'riding' him at the moment.

The players i got know me a little too well...

My players seem to expect something with tentacles each seasion. I am a HPL fan more than hentai fan, but either way, they max thier escape artist.

They seem to guess its Tiger stripes = lightning. i got NO idea where they get that from Dat'cha.

I would allow unnatural hair and or eye colours, but they know the NPC's would NOT ignore it. If They want to look weird, they willl be treated as such.

Fist of the North Star

Solely for the line "You don't know it, but you are already dead."

I enjoyed Vampire Hunter D a lot as well as Akira up until its end.

My big, bad, and brutal orc culture is influenced by Fushigi Yuugi.

Actually heavily influnced in and understatement, I was stealing whole heartedly from "The Universe of the Four Gods."
