Do you play in games you aren't enjoying?

In the past, I have played in games I did not enjoy, and from those experiences, I've learned that my time is valuable to me. I am a lenient person, but once it is obvious that I'm not having fun, I do not feel bad about leaving a game. Of course, I do so as tactfully and as respectfully as I can, because these people are my friends, after all, and I'd like it to stay that way.

Hope this helps,
Flynn

I've been accused of it. It has to get really un-fun for me to leave because I play with friends, some of whom I have known for many years. My tolerance is much lower now than before, though. I have considered bagging our current game, but I am generally glad that I have stuck it out so far.

Not for long. I will play through a couple of sessions just to find out if its the game, or if it was just a bad night (Hey, it happens). Once I'm sure its the game, I'll talk to the GM (if I'm playing) or the players (if God forbid I'm running it) and find out others opinions and discuss the details. If an en-passe is reached, I try to bow out gracefully and amicably.

As hard as it is to do, I have bailed on my friends because it just wasn't working out.

Not for long/not anymore.

When things go south I usually give it a few more sessions to see if I have fun. If I'm having any fun at all, I'll usually stick it out. If it is just conflict and stupid-angry and bad puns...I'm out of there.

I've left groups because of dislike of a new member was so overwhelming that it ruined the games for me. In those cases I usually bow out quietly, then rejoin the group after a couple of months when that person has been booted due to other reasons.

There is a difference between a bad session and an unfun game, IMHO. That's probably important to note. I wouldn't let a player go because he was having a bad day, and I would expect the same courtesy from my players.

Nope. I've had to quickly bail on a couple of new groups after finding that the play style/players/house rules/whatever were not at all to my liking. I hate to finally find a group only to leave it again, but I'd hate it even more to grit my teeth and sit through a game I don't like just for the sake of being in a game.

Depends on what you mean. Would I play a game that I had absolutely no fun with? No. Would I play a game that wasn't really to my taste as long as I had fun with the people I'm gaming with? Sure; do it all the time. I play D&D fer cryin' out loud, and D&D has always frustrated me at least as much as I've enjoyed it.

I played games I didn't like yeah, but stick with them knowing I hate them? Nope.
