Both.
We have a monthly in-person weekend, with @TheSword and myself sharing DM duties, so we both get chance to play as well.
We also have a fortnightly Warhammer RPG game, with three of the same players and one addition (who has just gone all John Wick after their small but vicious dog was killed by skaven!).
I'm also lucky enough to play in an online game, featuring Wisconsin, Atlanta, Southampton and SE London; cross-Atlantic gaming is cool!

My former in-person group is all online now. They like playing from the convenience of their homes on weeknights. Makes me sad.
I couldn't do online as a player, it's not stimulating enough for me to keep paying attention.. might be better if we all used webcams, but being off-camera is part of the online convenience.

And nowadays I GM for a living.. I could maybe make that work in-person, but it's much easier to make it happen online. In-person I'd probably have to be mostly running for teens, an after-school paid gig.

I feel like we had this thread a week ago, but such is the nature of forums!
Edit: Yup How do you tabletop these days?

in person.
I much prefer in-person (my D&D home game is in person only) and playing at conventions.
However, I run a weekly VtM & WtA game on discord (though 3 of the players are locals from my D&D group and the 4th lives in WA).
Wonder if it’s anyone I know. I used to be very involved in the WA WoD scene. Though, that was over 10 years ago now, and I was in the LARP crowd; not sure if the tabletop scene is different.

We've been 100% online since the lockdowns began. Last time we talked about it, there was no interest in going back to in-person gaming...babysitters, traffic, parking, designated drivers, etc., aren't worth the trouble anymore now that VTTs have become more viable as alternatives.

Not playing right now, but in the past I've played both in-person and online (roll20 and maptool).
I much, much prefer in person; and don't seek out online anymore.

There is nothing, nothing like the in person experience IMO.
As you say, in your opinion. I mean, I get it. You like what you like, but you just keep stressing it as if it is somehow inherently superior to online play and it simply isn't. It's your preferred way of playing. Glad you're enjoying in-person, but bolding it doesn't make it any more true for others.

In my opinion, the juice is just not worth the squeeze. The time, effort and irritation of in-person does not produce enough return on investment for me.

Edited: No need for me to be so abrasive.
