Hapkido and Kendo/Kenjitsu

And yes, unless your taking the exersize type stuff, you will get hurt. a 3 times broken finger and a cracked rib for my efforts thus far :(

Japanese Goju Ryu for about 3 years, but that was quite a while ago.

I have also taken a few classes in Tai Chi (Yang Long Form) & had belonged to my university's aikido club.

better than half the "schools" here in memphis are owned by Kang Rhee, the guy who taught elvis.

in order to enter and study you have to pass a bigger than lifesize picture of this oriental gentleman and his fat, sideburned sidekick with a dopey(pun intended) grin.

kinda loses something for me :)

We do fight with swords here. European medieval swordsmanship. And no, it's not like in the movies (clashing swords against each other). If you fight like this, you're dead within seconds.

Tae Kwon Do for two years back when I was young.:)

Took some fencing but thought it was lame, I am sorry, there are no rules in sword fighting, it is kill or be killed!

A) To be fair, no one really claims that moden fencing is a sword-fighting class. It's fencing; a sport.

B) "Real" swordfighting may not have rules, but any class will, be it studing japanese, chinese, european, you name it. It's to keep injuries low and make instruction easier. If your expecting to find a class where they just hand you a sword and turn you loose on the other students, your in for a surprise.

Know your pain man, it took me 12 years to find some real swordsmen around here for practice :D

Actually our teacher here did this (with a blunt sword). After the wildly slashing newbie stopped three times in a row after the first step with a blade at his throat, he choose to forget his movie fighting style :D
