They don't use the word Daemons in 5e, they still use Yugoloths. The word "Daemon" is pronounced exactly the same as "Demon", so it's probably why they don't use that word.I remember the demons being called tanar'ri, the devils being called baatezu and the daemons being called yugoloths.
Tabaxi, Aarakocra?Every time I see this thread title, I think 'how much more do we really need'.
Between MotM, and the updates already potentially added (Goliath, Tiefling?) I mean get the Aasimar in there, and what else is missing? Thats a mountain of options.
Since to me tieflings are a Planescape race, anything done to them since is an "update".Tabaxi, Aarakocra?
I think that and maybe Genasi would be about it for the "mainstream" things you could add.
Part of what makes an edition distinctive though is the edit it applies to the races in the PHB, I'd say.
Also I dunno if you noticed but Tieflings have been in the PHB for 15 years, they're not an "update".
At some point you have to accept change bro. They've literally been a popular race since 1994. People who were born in 1994 are about to hit 30, and probably have kids of their own at this point.Since to me tieflings are a Planescape race, anything done to them since is an "update".

I graduated high school in 1994. I'm not under any obligation to accept any later version as superior to what they started with.At some point you have to accept change bro.
