D&D 5E Do you think we will get an Oriental Adventures setting for 5th edition?

I really enjoyed the Oriental Adventures setting for 3rd edition and I really hope someone, whether it's WoTc or a 3rd party (Here's looking at you Sasquatch), puts out an oriental setting. I would love to see classes and monsters done with the 5th edition rules.

I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere in 2017-18, we get a Kara-Tur AP with some form of player-options included in a sourcebook or supplement. You really only need a few subclasses, backgrounds, a race or two, some spells, and maybe a few feats. The module could introduce new monsters.

Hm. Not entirely sure... after all, we didn't get anything for 4e, and it was much more release heavy than 5e. And 3e was pretty light on OA stuff as well, and it was willing to go into some strange directions with official releases (remember Ghostwalk?).

Realistically, I'd expect something from Unearthed Arcana, or some sort of quick and dirty conversion. After all, isn't there an honor system in the DMG? Something like that could be kitbashed into OA, for sure.

Yeah UA post maybe, but isn't most of the stuff in the existing books? You can use the existing backgrounds easy enough and there are conversions for weapons and an honor system in the DMG?

3rd edition was Rokugan, right? Maybe FFG, the new rights holders to L5R, might work with WotC for a new version? Not that odd of an idea these days as it would have been in the past.

Possible, but WotC completely owns Kara-Tur, which is a continent on Toril (Forgotten Realms! Brand Synergy!) and doesn't require any cross-brand pollination.

Rokugan wasn't the best fit for the 3E Oriental Adventure setting. Hopefully Remathilis is spot on and the reinvigorate Kara-Tur as an AP with a full on 'Adventurer's Guide' to boot.

If WotC chooses to revisit Kara-tur, i'd like to see an effort made to make it less japano-centric. At the very least, i'd like to see elements inspired by "Journey to the West" be as prominent as the "Lord of the Rings" inspired bits are in the D&D basic game.
