Do you use a tablet? Which kind? With what game?

Im using my iPad 2 to run my monthly Pathfinder game, converted Curse of the Crimson Throne. I use a combination of Goodreader, Pages and the PFSRD app to run my game.

Since I travel to my games via LIRR and have to walk up 3 or 4 loooooong Manhattan blocks I'm EXTREMELY thankful that I dont have to lug hardcopies of my books with me anymore.

How is GoodReader different than Apple's iBooks app? I can already add bookmarks to PDFs, using iBooks.
It's not buggy as crap, for one thing. I've found iBooks to be unreliable in adding PDFs to the library, no matter what system I use. Goodreader connects to PDFs through pretty much any mechanism (other than the iBooks library, which is locked away, apparently) you can think of.

I have an ipad 1.
I play in a Dnd 3.0 and 4.0 games.
I use the following for the games:
3.0:
Goodreader
Spellbook
D20rules(red d20)
4.0
Goodreader
I4e

Other gaming apps:

Initative
Feudz Loot
Feudz dice
Monster list
MaPnakotic
iCS 4e free
Pocket Dice
D20rules(silver d20)
RPG Scribe
RPG Sheets
iMonsters SRD
ispells SRD
DM tools
d20 monsters
DnD sheets

Pathfinder:
Animal companion
Summoner

other apps I use when needed:
Notes Plus
SketchpadHD
Graphpad
OneNote
Dropbox
Evernote
Box.net
Touch Icon
QuickOffice

iPad 2. Love it. Pros...I sit at my desk less, watch movies in bed, read novels, play pinball...on and on...

Cons - does not work with 4e char gen.

More useful than I imagined it would be before purchase.

What problems are you having with 4e char gen?
check out I4e app that might what you need.
If your having problems with pdfs get cutepdf for your computer.

iPAD 1 - Warhammer v.2 & Pathfinder
Apps used:
  • Index Cards - just what it sounds like
  • GoodReader but moving to ReaddleDocs - PDF readers
  • NoteTaker HD - use stylus, it has graph (large & small) paper templates
  • Chapters / Pages - Word Processor
  • Dicenomicon - dice roller
  • PFR - Pathfinder Referance Doc (PF ruleset)
  • DM ToolKit
  • Spells - SRD spell list
  • MyPad - Facebook
  • ForumRunner - for ENWorld

I am still looking for a OneNote type app for the iPad. :(

There is app I use called OneNote

Well at this point I have used three different tablets for my gaming.

#1 Gateway Convertible PC/Tablet running Vista / Win 7
Basically the same as using a laptop but had the stylus based interface and I wasn't hidden behind the screen.
I used this for over 3 years.

#2 Moto Xoom
I was unable to ever find a PDF viewer on it that I was happy with, but have to admit I only purchased a few as it seemed the problem was the device as much the apps.
I also used Quick Office Pro - but again was unimpressed with how it handled spreadsheets. To many functions not supported and scrolling was to slow.
I picked this up shortly after it came out in Feb.

Due to being unimpressed with it I picked up an Ipad2 last weekend.

#3 IPad2
I have picked up GoodReader and been much happier with how its handling my PDF's.
Also picked up Sheet HD which seems better with my excel files, but still a little slow.
I'm trying out a note program called Noterize.
Picked up RPGBuddy for Init tracking but found its process for delay/hold is really just going in and editing the list. (not really helpful IMHO)
I'm also using Safari for links to the SRD.
hoping to get in on a beta test for Darktheater's Character Folio that is supposed to be released for GenCon. (Welcome to Darktheatre)

Also hoping Paizo will get some more useful apps out than iCrit & iFumble that they released on 7/1/11.

I've used my tablets primarily for 3.x and now Pathfinder.

Would love a good character sheet app for Pathfinder, D&D 3.5 and Shadowrun. Another app would be one to track damage for battletech.

I use an ipod, with readdledocs too. Readdle docs can also act as wireless drive which is handy. Plus it works really well for my guntenberg and baen ebooks.

I get a lot of use from Office2 plus, allows me to use my spread sheets and other office docs prepared on my PC.

I have the srd (d20 and modern) as an app, and make some use of world builder, dmtoolkit and GMtoolkit.

I also have my netbook (dell latitude 2110) which is small, fast enough, great battery life and lets me use programs that aren't i-friendly. Like AstroSynthesis. I find netbooks far superior to Ipads or other tablets for data entry, (typing on ipad/ipods i find a pain after 5 minutes) connecting players USB's to deliver notes or connecting a data projector for special events. Netbooks are also way cheaper.

Ipad1 for me.

Use Obsidian Portal when DMing my 4e campaign and iplay4e when playing in a 4e campaign. Like many others, I also use GoodReader and load lots of PDFs of bood o there. Sometimes use audio and have used Youtube once to display a trailer of my campaign (on Obsidian Portal) to my players. Also often use D&D compendium.

Tried tons of other apps, but most not worth it for me.

iPad 1, 64GB 3G with Goodreader, pdfs galore. I have but rarely use the the PF Reference document anymore. Accessing the d20PFSRD is a better bet if the local pdfs aren't doing it for me.

I also use Apple's Pages Wordprocessing App on the iPad. I have a LOT of great things to say about this app. Well worth the $9.99. Big Thumbs Up for that one.

I picked up my iPad "used" just after the iPad 2 was released in the USA (but the week before it was released here in Canada) off of Craigslist for $500, all-in, which included an Apple rubber folio case for the iPad. I say "used" as it was NIB, in original packaging with the screen protector acetate still on the device. It had maybe 1 or 2 hours of use on it.

I use my iPad everyday. It is an awesome ebook reader (iBooks is good, but Kindle App for iPad is top notch and is even better, imo), great movie player, great surfing the web tablet and is actually a better iPod than my iPod Touch in terms of sound quality (and volume). Plants vs. Zombie on the iPad is an awesome game :) Oh, the Bookman app for reading Comic Books on the iPad is pretty damn rockin too.

I'm not sure I would drop $1,000.00 for a new iPad 2, but for a fully loaded iPad 1? $500 was an awesome deal.

When the iPad 3 or 4 hits, I will doubtless upgrade at that time. I'm sold on my iPad. This device is not a fad and I do not expect I will ever be without a tablet again in the forseeable future.

Best part? Small and unobtrusive for taking notes during client meetings, and the battery power means it lasts all day long.

I can't promise that you will love your iPad as much as I am attached to mine, but I can assure you that as a gaming gadget, the iPad makes the grade -- and then some.
