Do you use psionics in your game?

Having just come off playing an elan psychic warrior, I did not find this to be the case. While I could have gained the benefit of a Cloak of Resistance constantly, most often I had better things to do with my swift actions (and my power points). The Resilience ability was actually the far more useful ability but as a front-line fighter it would eat through my PP really darn fast. Vigor was by far the better choice, though it required planning to use.

Options always have more utility than no options.

How many first level Wizards have the option to boost their saves on the fly by +4 or to stop some number of hit points by using up an immediate action and some spell slots?

Resistance and Resilence are effectively like giving an Elan two very useful and effective powers for free. Sure, one could choose not to use them, but on the other hand, no other race or class in the game can do this.

Interesting that this poll shows 2 to 1 using psionics. I always hear "market research" which shows that psionics aren't very widely used.

well I love psionics and use them frequently, but only one player has ever tried it and that was in 3.0.
one dislikes psi in his fantasy.
one doesnt want to learn more rules than she has to.
two have no stated objections

So they run into blue goblins, Psurlon (humanoid psi-using worms)
and halfling NPC psionists - psions outnumber mages by a wide margin in halflings,
but there was a beloved dwarf telepath/priest (acted as psycatrist/ marriage councilor)

I do HR a few things, and avoid abuse by NPCs but not giving them problamatical powers.

No psionics here.

Reasoning has more to do with confusing flavor and what we are trying to achieve with the world/campaign. Spellcasters are free to experiment and create new spells, but these fall into a common framework.

Similarly, we do not use multiple "magic systems" ala Incarnum, Weaves, etc. Plenty of flavor may be found if the setting is well
thought through without resorting to multiple rule systems.
