Do You Use the Core Pantheon?

Well, I use the draconic deities and the demihuman and monster deities.

But i don't use the core human deities, I use homebrewed ones.

Nope, I've never really liked the "core gods"; never fit any of my mythological needs.

I did have a campaign where I used the gods from The Book of the Righteous, but that is the only time I've used a published source for my deities/mythology. Even there I tinkered with it heavily.

Mythology and religion are very important to my games -- I need gods that make sense to the world, not merely serve D20 player character needs.

My answer will have to be "yes, for now". When I started making my homebrew, I was still quite new at D&D and found I had enough work ahead of me without coming up with a pantheon as well. The ones that have featured most heavily are Nerull, Erythnul, Pelor, Heironeous and Moradin.

I always meant to make my own some day, and it's happening right now. A longrunning campaign has reached so far into epic levels, it's time to plan its ending. I'm letting it go out with a bang; an all-out war between the good and evil deities. I plan to eradicate 99% of the pantheon and parts of the material plane, giving me the chance to create new gods and rearrange everything I'm not quite happy about on my homebrew world. My current PCs will become part of the pantheon, but there will also be several of my own creation.

I like the core panthron, and would also use it in a homebrew. Erik, I'd say keep the core as is, as Dungeon/Dragon cannot cater to every homebrewer like us out there. There is good reason Greyhawk is still around after 30 years. :)

edited, though Erika sounds just as good to me. :)

Yeah, the Core Pantheon works well enough

I like the core deities just fine. Every now and again, I'll supplement with a "saint" or demi-god, but the core works well.

I don't use deities, and haven't used them in over a decade. Clerics choose a "path" based on their alignment and choice of domains.

When I do use a pantheon, I use the Egyptian pantheon.
