Well, I don't know about always - Jon Pertwee did an awful lot of his own fighting, what with the Venusian Akaido and all.The Whiner Knight said:The Doc's always had other people around to do the fighting, from UNIT and the Brigadier to Turlough and Ace; not to mention all kinds of characters who don't recur.
Rabelais said:I'm a complete NOOB when it comes to Doctor Who... I caught a couple of the classic eps back in the day, but that was it.
I'll tell you though. I caught 3 or 4 episodes (Both Eccleston and Tennant) and I'm kinda hooked now.
Heh, Torchwood is season two's Bad WolfRichards said:So has the new Torchwood show started up there in the UK yet? I understand this season of Doctor Who is filled with references to Torchwood in just about every other episode in the first half of the season.
You mean they didn't even put the Children in Need special on the DVD set?!! That bites! 'The Christmas Invasion' really needs that extra little bit of character interaction between Rose and the new Doctor, especially since he spends so much of 'Christmas Invasion' in a coma.Tuzenbach said:Unfortunately, it was not included. It REALLY should have been, as the Christmas Invasion wasn't anywhere near long enough to fill the 90-minute time slot. Seriously, when they broke for commercials, they didn't come back until, like 6 minutes later!
What I *wanted* them to do was include the last 3-4 minutes of "The Parting Of Ways" followed immediately be the Children In Need 7-minute scene and THEN go into the Christmas Invasion. Instead, we got 6-minute commercial breaks!
Well, I read the other day that the Children in Need episode will be included on the series 2 dvd release.sniffles said:You mean they didn't even put the Children in Need special on the DVD set?!! There are some wonderful episodes in series 2, and no mistake. Stuff like Girl in the Fireplace, Love and Monsters and the two parter set near the black hole are among the best Dr Who stories I've ever seen. It has been great to watch my daughter live the cliche by literally hiding behind the sofa. Both kids are huge Dr Who fans, so we all settle down to watch it together. When I first saw this thread for just a second I thought, who's performing thread necromancy? Then I remembered that the series just started on Sci Fi last week.![]()
Ah, the spoilers I could give away...![]()
Personally I'm rather glad I don't know anything about this comedienne who's guest-starring in 'The Runaway Bride'. I think I'd probably be happier not knowing.Mark Hope said:Can't wait for the Xmas special this year, mainly because I am hoping that we'll get to hear the Doctor say "Am I bovvered? Am I bovvered, though?" (hmmm, maybe a little obscure, that reference...)
Children in Need is coming along soon as well - maybe we'll get another mini-episode...
You can't miss her on British telly, really. Quite the flavour of the month. She's pretty funny, though, so I'm OK with it.sniffles said:Personally I'm rather glad I don't know anything about this comedienne who's guest-starring in 'The Runaway Bride'. I think I'd probably be happier not knowing.
