Does a +2 Bow hit +2 only Creatures?

Let me use magic on bows and ammo in a 'flavor text' way.

A magical *Bow* is like having a heat seeker. The more magical, the more likely you are to *hit* the target, because it's 'Magic'. That shot paticularly difficult? Well, add a +5 to your hit roll; that's why it's easier to do wacky stuff in stories with a magic bow. Add that plus equally to the Force of the bow. The stronger the bow? The harder it hits.

Magical Arrows *cause damage*. Imagine a magical arrow that, if shot from a normal bow, shoots through armor. It goes right through it. Magical arrows Penetrate, when they get there. A magical arrow is like an armor piercing round. Thus, it does more Damage. The plusses apply to hitting (Going through armor) and going Deeper (Damage).

There. :) That should offer some form of Arguement.

Now, seeing as we're in the Rules forum, someone should quote a page number.

Don't ranged weapons grant their enchantment to their ammunition??

... depends, the DMG usually states what is and what is not passed on to the ammunition.

fire, frost, shock ... all get passed to the ammo.

What if I want to penetrate DR when I smack things with the bow? :D

Don't laugh, I've already done that!

What else could I do at some weird place like the Astral Plane with no offensive spells, no equipment besides a magical bow, no magical arrows left and no Monk next to me who had gone down already. ;)

On the good side, my bow now can strike ethereal creatures (as can the Monk's fists, was some kind of reward for fighting there)... not that I often whack them with my bow... :D

I think there was rules in Dragon, when the Robin Hood game came out, about using bows as melee weapons. They've a chance to break.
