Does anyone use the Reputation System?

My only experience with the Reputation system has been with the Wheel of Time d20 sourcebook. I liked some of the stuff it had in it. Does anyone actually use anything like the Reputation system? Anyone have anything similar to it, like Fame or Status?

For my Viking game I use a system of "Fame" and "Weird"
You get "Fame" for successful warrior-related things, you lose Fame for cowardice or treachery.

You get "Weird" for practicing magic and for creepy behavior (I guess there's no way to Lose weird points).

Both Fame and Weird can be used like Skills to Intimidate low-level NPC's, flunkies and goons. A few classes can use their Weird to drive people away in terror.
Fame is used to get favors from powerful NPC's.

Fame minus Weird is used to recruit followers to crew ships and go on raids.

I also have a system called "heroic boast" whereby the players boast they will do something in the upcoming adventure. If they acheive their boast, they gain Fame, if they don't, they lose Fame.
