I hadn't heard this one. But, I know Brian (or Marilyn Manson if you prefer) used to play AD&D 1e back in the day.

Well, I went to school with Brian back in the day, and I know that we used to play quite a lot of AD&D 1e.

I've got no idea if he plays 3e though.

Heh, A couple of weekends ago I was looking to see if there were any gaming groups local to me that might have a website or yahoo group or something. So doing a search for D&D and Canton Oh brings up what? a ton of MM crap. I won't even start, but the best the Hall of fame city can do musically is MM and Macy gray *CRIES*.

I like both Manson and Eminem (and I'm not actually very fond of rap at all).

These guys are not meant to be taken seriously. They do EXACTLY what they intend to: Stir up controversy.

Manson's last album wasn't all that good, but he really has an interesting take on things if you stop to pay attention to SOME of his lyrics. However, just as many of his songs are useless drivel.

Several songs on Manson's Anitchrist Superstar, for example, was more like poetry than modern metal. His last album wasn't all that good and I don't care for his earliest stuff. Really IMHO, Superstar and Mechanical Animals where his best.

Same goes for Eminem. Songs like "Purple Pills" are useless crap, but some of his stuff I like.

What about Smells Like Children, his version (reworking) of Sweet Dreams is amazing.

I hate it when I'm older then the bands I listen to.

I'll second that- Superstar and MA were his best works... Holy Wood wasn't that bad though, certainly better than his early stuff.

I've read MM's autobiography... aside from some amusing anecdotes about his childhood and his encounter with Anton Szandor LaVey, I found it to be just a boring account of celebrity debauchery... nothing too interesting. On the other hand, I do recall his statement about D&D:
"I've heard that every cigarette you smoke takes ten minutes off of your life. I think that every hour that you spend playing D&D delays the loss of your virginity by a day."

:)

(hmm... so that explains why a good looking, intelligent, wealthy pre-law student like myself can't get laid... all those years of excessive role playing...)

The original poster posted a number of fishy threads at the same time as this one, stuck around for a short time to make some snide remarks about d20, and hasn't been back since. That's a troll. However, that doesn't mean the entire thread has to be a troll.
