Does Mirror Image hinder teh Hide skill in any way ?

I'd say that the mirror images also go invisible when you go invisible.

So you're saying there is no longer a roll to see whether you target the character or the image, just a miss chance due to invisibility?

Yep. The order in which you cast the spells shouldn't affect the end result. Basically if you have invisibility on, it's pointless to use mirror image, and vice-versa.

This post is in reference to the hide question :)

Personally I see Mirror Image as you doing all the same stuff at different points in time. Think of Data in the episode where they were in that time flux at the end there were three of them and they all move at the same time. When they all reached the same place they seemed to merge together. That is what would happen when you hid behind the box you would control the images so that they all merged with you for that time and then when you started moving again they would spread around you some in front some to the side some behind with your frame of reference moving between them as the spell effects you.

See, I always thought of the images doing exactly what you do when you do it.

As stated earlier, as I wouldn't let anyone gain any extra abilities (flanking, for example - I was just pointing out to the "I'd allow flanking camp" that if you'd allow the images to flank, then you should also allow the images to merge when hiding) I wouldn't give any extra hindrances. I'd just allow all the images to merge with you when you're hiding - they are all copying you, just doing it in the same space as you.

Plus shifting around and merging with you and other images...

The actual character might be able to hide effectively, but his images will be shifting in and out of him and each other.

But do they *have* to be? The images are supposed to reflect you exactly - a "mirror image" if you will. So, if you are hiding perfectly still behind a box and all the images are merged with you, why would they be shifting around?
