Does Spell Immunity (Cleric) work vs Wind Wall?

My questions is whether casting Spell Immunity upon oneself for the spell Wind Wall would allow a cleric to fire arrows through a wind wall? Spell Immunity specifies that it works against spells that allow spell resistance, which Wind Wall does. Some of my friends argue that Spell Immunity affects the targeted creature, so his arrows would still be deflected by Wind Wall.

What do the rules actually say? And what are some other defenses for an archer against Wind Wall?

What do the rules actually say?

I think the SR would apply to having items ripped from your hands, and Tiny/Small flying or Gaseous creatures attempting to pass through.

The arrow deflection is the wall affecting the arrow, not the wall affecting you, so SR wouldn't apply.

And what are some other defenses for an archer against Wind Wall?

Carry a sling or throwing knives as a backup

I agree with Hyp on the effects of the Wind Wall, but note that a cleric cannot make himself immune to his own spells. If the cleric casts spell immunity (wind wall) and then wind wall, he'll be affected by it. The following rule explains why:


A creature’s spell resistance never interferes with its own spells, items, or abilities.

Unless your arrows were somehow imbued with an antimagic effect, your arrows would still bounce off. Your cleric is immune to the effects, but any items that leave his possession (such as ammunition) are not.
