Does the half air elemental template grant a fly speed?

The half air elemental gains the air subtype, and under air subtype it says all of that subtype have a fly speed and a manuverabilty class- usually perfect. So does a person with the half air elemental template gain a fly speed and if so what? And on a side note why do they get cold instead of electricity immunity?

Yep, they get a fly speed equal to their land speed if I remember correctly, with perfect maneuverability. In the 3.5 update I don't think air elementals gain imunity to anything, as the air subtype doesn't grant you any immunites (as opposed to say the fire subtype granting immunity to fire)

Actualy the cold immunity was part of the half air elemental template, stating the the different half elementals get immunity to their associated energy and it said specificaly to use cold for air elementals, the template is in manual of the planes if anyone is interested to look at it.

Thats why I asked electricity does go with air so why do the specify the exception that air should be cold immune for the half air elemental.

Have you checked to see if there is a 3.5 update booklet for Manual of the Planes? If there is, see if that was updated. If not, check to see if there is 3.0 errata for it. That sounds like a simple mistake to fix.

I would say that due to convection and altitude, cold is a more common threat to fliers than electricity.

Actually, IMO I would say that half-air and half-earth elementals get no immunity at all. Full air and earth elementals get none. Obviously, it was a balancing factor to maintina an equal LA/CR for each template, but something else should have been given instead (if anything).
