Sure, it may rarely be on-topic, if the topic is defined as the topic of the thread itself, but it rarely actually drifts that far away from being gaming-related and often dead-on gaming chatter, does it?

Is this the new home for the HIVEMIND?

Is this the end of the HIVEMIND on ENWorld?

Or did we get a separate forum for hivemind threads? Or a way to stick them on the second page? There's enough drivel on the internet as is.

I agree that if this board continues beyond the two-week marker, we should REALLY make a concerted effort to ensure that half of all threads on the front page at any time have the HIVEMIND icon.

I do like that HIVEMIND icon. MM did a great job.

Hivemind consists of postings that would be better served in a Chat Room.

Totally OT.

Which is fine...I'm all about the OT. I like to talk to my gaming buddies about other things besides gaming.

But to say that Hivemind is "less OT" than other OT threads is going a bit far, methinks.

The hive does give context to our game chatter.
If you know tallarn is an actor, you know where he stands in his gaming (usually in a chainmail bikini)

So it is gaming chatter while it is not gaming chatter at the same time

I don't think the forum should be called Hivemind, at least not in full. If it were Off-Topic and Hivemind sure. I prefer Ramblings and Roamings myself.

*shrug* I'm still not sure how I feel about an Off-topic forum, though I imagine I'll spend more time here than anywhere else but General and sci-fi
