Could you provide some peer-reviewed research that backs this up, especially backing up the implication that normal use of dry-erase markers significantly increases the risk of brain damage? I've never encountered this idea before.Emirikol said:They give me a headache and toluene gives you brain damage.

The effects disappear when exposure is stopped, except in cases of high levels. I have a very hard time believing any dry erase marker has high levels of toluene, and especially that you'd suffer the listed symptoms just from proximity to their use.How can toluene affect my health?
Toluene may affect the nervous system. Low to moderate levles can cause tiredness, confusion, weakness, drunken-type actions, memory loss, nausea, loss of appetite, and hearing and color vision loss. These symptoms usually disappear when exposure is stopped.
Inhaling High levels of toluene in a short time can make you feel light-headed, dizzy, or sleepy. It can also cause unconsciousness, and even death.
High levels of toluene may affect your kidneys.
