Battleaxe (well, it was a Cleric of Clangeddin Silverbeard).

BTW, is there a "Dwarven Warhammer" which does 1D10 damage and could be wielded one-handed (like the Dwarven Waraxe)?

I would say you just invented it. :)

If you do use a Dwarven Warhammer I would require the player to choose between it and a Waraxe as a Martial weapon. The other would be Exotic to them. This would reflect a group of Dwarves that stress Warhammers over the more traditional Waraxe.

Grim uses his +2 Dwarven Great Axe (1D12+9 x3) to give the enemy a close Gillette shave. He then applies Old Spice to give the rotting corpse that cool refreshed feeling.

We came up with one for the Dwarven cleric fighter in our group, but he did not spend the exotic weapon prof and always uses it two handed (often with power attack.

My last 3.5 dwarven fighter wielded a greatsword. The PC (referenced above) in the game I run wields a big warhammer.

The longest I ever played a dwarf warrior he was known for wielding a mean mace (it was in WFRPG though, not D&D).

My dwarf is a scythe specialist. The x4 crit and Improved Critical is a nice combination, plus Supernatural Blow: Undead (on a "crit" for undead, replace the extra crit dice with d6's (so the extra 6d4 becomes 6d6). A little power-gamey, but it's only useful in a pretty specific situation. Too bad Keen Edge doesn't stack with Imp. Crit any more. :)

How did you know my current character was a dwarf? :)

Yes, my dwarven cleric weilds dwarven waraxe & shield. His AB isn't as good & he does slightly less damage, but he has a higher AC & more hp than the fighter.

He's got a backup hammer for certain situations & throws javelins when at range. I think he may have a couple of hand axes as well, but they don't see much use beyond chopping firewood.
