Does your Spouse/Significant other game with you?

I met my wife at a game of D&D. I wasn't a killer DM but I would often hurt the players brains with twist and such. So I treated her just like the other players.

Now, as a player in a campaign she was starting I tried to take advantage of her being my wife by not writing up my equipment list like everyone else did. I was just being lazy.

Start of the game she turns to me and says, "You wake up naked, with a headache. You had been gambling last night, got drunk and lost everything that isn't on your equipement sheet." She smiled,
everyone else's jaws dropped and we had a great time with my dwarf causing problems. he bothered
the druid who cast faerie fire on him - a naked dwarf with purple flames... it was lovely! the gnome offered to buy him some clothes the uproar attracted the attention of the person who needed people for a dangerous mission. We had a good time.

We've gamed together for years, in various genres, both as DMs and players. Now our teen daughter is gaming with us and that is very cool.

My gf doesn't game. She's tried it a couple of times but I don't think it's for her ("You need three rulebooks, and they're THAT thick???")

This is unfortunate, because she'd make an excellent druid: true neutral in alignment and I swear to God she's got any 15 ranks of Animal Empathy in real life.

That said, she is a big Piers Anthony fan, so maybe one day...

As many people know, my wife games with me as well. She's been gaming with us for almost 10 years now, too. The biggest hurdle is that she gets VERY upset and violent when the dice don't obey her commands. Even to the point of throwing them. She's never had a character die on her, so I truly dread when that day comes. (then again, I have VERY few PC deaths in my campaign) Her paladin has her Battle Bunny now, so she's happier than ever right now. :D

It's great!

Actually, I met my boyfriend through our D&D group. If I hadn't started playing D&D, we never would have met. Although the interesting thing is, he DMed our group for over a year before the two of us got involved, or even got to be more than remote friends.

My wife was always interested in gaming, but wasn't "allowed to" by the boys... :(

When a group from my work mentioned playing, she was all over it and jumped at the chance, and has been a rabid RPG gamer ever since.
It was almost inevitable. since I'm lucky enough that she enjoys all other types of gaming/fantasy that I do (cards, board games, movies).
Since she plays, there have been other ladies that will try RPG'ing, because "if there's another girl there than I guess I'll go."

Soon her trip to the dark side will be complete. :p

You're not as cute as you think you are.:p

It would suck not to game with Shadoe as I would spend all my Friday nights (and some Saturdays) at home eating ice cream and watching girl movies. Hey, wait a minute....:D
