Doh... Player "oopsies"

Well, for the most part my guys are pretty decent about looting. Just about once every other meeting they forget something it seems. I mean.. they try to loot skeletons... but they forget to loot something with a bag hanging from its belt, snicker.

Of course, ironically, most/all of us are greedy. When I was a player, I would break every wooden door down and hack it into firewood to sell to villagers back home. Every copper piece counts!

My player forget to loot or search on a regular basis. When I ran Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil a few years back, it was amazing how much treasure they missed because they were so easily distracted. Plus the bad guys would often run away when the battle goes against them, so you have running fight that ends up leaving a trail of bodies through the tunnels.

And some of the time they don't even write the stuff down. So much treasure has gone missing because no one recorded it, or they just put it aside to identify and never got around to it.

Maybe they are just used to when I play, the first two things I ask after a battle is how much XP and what treasure we find! And I am usually the only one to record it.

My players sometimes forget to loot or at least to look in less obvious places. I only remind if it is obvious or in a post-game wrap-up that it cost them some neat items or whatnot.
