I don't know if this is representative of how it is doing "now," but the reported sales of the 2024 books have been incredible. Much stronger than the 2014 release and higher than I was expecting for sure. I assumed they just wanted to maintain the sales strength they have had, but they have far exceeded that. Of course, the question is not how it is doing "now," but how will it do "tomorrow."Those aren't indications that it's doing gangbusters now. I read a lot of people on social media and I think that's where this notion really started with me. People whose brand is D&D aren't excited in the same way. Some of them stepping away from it.
PS - here is an article from 6 days ago: Dungeons & Dragon's New Monster Manual Appeals To Players, Not Just DMs, not sure if that qualifies as "now" or not.
