Double crossbow?

Does anyone know the stats for the double crossbow from arms & armor 3.5. I dont have the book, but a player is telling me you get 2 attacks with it at no penalty.

Now I thought it had to be shot at the same target at a -2 penalty per arrow like many shot.

And if you shot each arrow seperately, would you be able to shoot 1 or 2 arrows per round?

Only if your BAB allows multiple attack (or you have Rapid Shot), which in the case of dual crossbow only two attacks maximum per round.

Now I thought it had to be shot at the same target at a -2 penalty per arrow like many shot.

Unless there is an errata, make one attack roll "at a -1 penalty, roll damage for each bolt individually" (RAW). IMHO, that's WAY too generous.

And if you shot each arrow seperately, would you be able to shoot 1 or 2 arrows per round?
