Double Dire Creatures?

Hmm, note that there is another version here that seems to be in the 3e ToH also. (ToH Revised has a somewhat different 3.5 version.)

Anyway, answering your question: I didn't work on this one, but I don't see why not. OTOH, you could also just apply it once and advance the critter.

Erica wrote that one, I believe, so I can only speculate.

Since it is passed along via a disease, I'd assume a creature couldn't suffer from the same disease twice. That said, I don't see anything game-breaking about stacking the template multiple times.

And of course that whole section is completely optional. ;)

I just wanted to say that a Dire Dire Animal is weird but in a very cool way.

Stacking Dire templates really does seem to be the pinnacle of mad wizardry. Especially if the wizard in question knows that the "template" has "stacked".

"Behold my magnificent war ape, dire to the fifth degree! That upstart Thesselar has only achieved the fourth valence of direhood in all his years of trying!"

Demiurge out.

Pure gold!

"But these apes go to 11".
