No..it's the RULES forum which means it can be d20 too. Which is what Dovers are.

I don't know about that, check the top of this thread:

EN World - Morrus' D&D / d20 News & Reviews Site > RPG Forums > D&D Rules

Isn't there another forum for other d20 games? In fact, yes there is:

EN World - Morrus' D&D / d20 News & Reviews Site > RPG Forums > d20 Modern, d20 System & OGL Games

Somehow, I don't think this is the first time a 3rd party published d20 product's rules have been discussed on this forum ...

Yeah, but that doesn't make it right... Especially when you are trying to help answer a question and you look at all your books and then you're like, "Damn, I don't think this race is found in any D&D books"

Objections

In Bastion Press' Minions Rebirth (3.0) the race of Dover are +0 LA as well as in Oathbound: Domains of the Forge (3.0) and Wildwood (3.5). In Complete Minions (3.5) they are LA +1. How would you rate them?

If you looked outside of these books you didn't read the request very well.

If you object to this request because it is not a WOTC product you do a disservice to those who want to help the poster who is obviously playing a D&D game.

If you were a moderator I imagine this might even be your responsibility but then I think you'd be encouraged to be considerate and moderate in your objections as well.

For my .02

I'd say that if the race was useful to the setting and already represented I'd make them LA: 0. If they don't really fit in I'd make them LA:1.
Thats sort of the social Darwinism approach.

In any case I'd interpret all the rules to find the most advantageous combination of traits before I made the ruling -- might as well save the players some work.

I'm confused... Is this "Dover" race from a WotC D&D product? I don't think I ever heard of them before. This is the D&D rules forum, right? Heh...

No its not from a WotC D&D (tm) product. It is from a Bastion Press D20 (tm) D&D product. :)

LA is a D&D rule. I think it is found discussed in the Monster Manual and possibly in the Dungeon Master's Guide as well. I appreciate your efforts to help though. :)

I know it's been mentioned before, but it is definitely worth mentioning again. Third-party D&D products are still D&D products.

Duergar are +1- they get immunity to poison and some mental effects and get some spiffy Sps. The ologatu are also immune to poison, have endurance and are LA +0. My vote is for +0.

They get a +4 on listen checks, scent, 1d6 bite attack, and bonus two weapon fighting feat.

Medium humanoid, no stat adjustments, ranger favored class and speak their own canine language.

Are the scent and bite worth +1 LA?

Scent especially.
