DPS Pally

Wrath of the Gods, likewise, is a 'pesuto striker' power (add a second ability score to damage). Only it affects you and all your allies in a close burst 1. Good stuff.

Thanks for all the help thus far, but yes i have to be either a human or Half-elf pally, primarily because i lost a bet and the winner got to choose my race/class >.< Also I don't know how far we're going to get in this campaign, though the DM just said more than likely end before lvl 7...so if theres anything that'll be great early but not so great later on then i'll be glad to know.

That all being said... your party is lacking a leader, and Sir Smashalot here isn't a suitable replacement for that role. I suspect you prefer a CHA-based Paladin, mechanically, for the emphasis on the leader-secondary role. It'll be a harder battle to create a Defender|Leader|Striker than just a Defender|Striker.

This. Maybe a Paladin/Cleric hybrid (Str/Wis) would get you by but a straight up battle cleric can do some kick butt damage and be a good leader.

Here's the best I could do, damage wise, with a Cha Paladin at level 7. The strength builds have better access to high [W] powers, but this guy isn't bad.

If I were planning on playing him into paragon/epic I'd even out Str and Con a little more for better access to Axe feats.

The nice thing is in addition to dealing decent damage he's got very good off-tanking and a little bit of off-healing, both of which will help your group a lot.

Most of this has already been covered, but here are my tips nonetheless:

1) Make sure to wield a big weapon. Fullblade, Executioner's Axe or Mordenkrad tend to be the best. Greatsword, Greataxe or Maul might be good to start with if you are shy on feats. A Greatspear or Gouge could be good for a charging build.

2) At-Will options: Ardent Strike gives you a strong Charisma-based at-will around which you could design a charging-based build. Holy Strike is the best raw damage if you've got good Str and Wis, while Valiant Strike can be really accurate.

3) Ardent Vow, instead of Lay on Hands, can be a nice damage approach if you've got decent Wisdom.

4) If you end up having more options as far as race goes, Dwarves and Razorclaw Shifters can make some really strong paladins.

6) Overall, I'd say either go with a Str/Wis Paladin using a big weapon and relying on Ardent Vow/Holy Strike, or a Cha/Wis Paladin using a Greatspear or Gouge who can charge one enemy for good direct damage, or use effective bursts against multiple enemies.
