Dragon 315 looks super cool!

First Post
I got Dragon 314 yesterday, looks pretty nice so far, but I haven't gotten done reading it yet. However, I looked over the preview for 315 and I have to say... wow.

Here's a basic listing of the preview info.

Dragonlance: Information on playing Draconian characters, plus new Draconian feats.
Greyhawk: Dozens of Regional feats for Greyhawk. Written by Erik Mona.
Al-Qadim: An update of the sha'ir class.
Ravenloft: Stats for Strahd von Zarovich and a new map of Castle Ravenloft.
Kara-Tur: Ancestral feats and martial arts fighting styles for the Kara-Tur region.
Red Steel: The return of cinnabar and red steel, the afflicted and tortles. Honesly, I have no idea what this is, but I thought I'd list it anyways.

Plus: Unnamed information for Blackmoor, Dark Sun, Planescape, Hollow World, and more.

Awesome. I can't wait.

And this month's (314) does a preview of the revised psionics handbook -- which looks like it will be covering at least three races from Dark Sun as "psionic races" (thri-kreen, half-giants, and Athas' special breed of halfling).

Yes! Mystara has two (and a half, sort of) articles! In the words of Black Mage, "I'm so happy I could kill something!" :p

Seriously, though, this will be the first Dragon magazine I buy in a long, long time.

Where are you getting the part about Athasian halflings from, Eric? I don't see them mentioned in the section talking about psionic races.

This is a damn fine idea! This should be done every year, like the April Fools, Haloween, and Dragon issues.

I totally second this idea! (Though I doubt it will happen.)

I'll have to look again when I get home, but I recall them mentioning something about a "special breed of halfling" which in the context of thri-kreen and half-giants just seemed to go that direction.

Edit -- Ah, I see -- when skimming through I read "hailing from the same sandy world..." as "halflings from the same sandy world..."

So, never mind -- no Athasian halflings!

Mystara fans in da hizz-ouse! :) But Pants' list shows Red Steel (which you're presumably counting for one) and Hollow World (which I would guess is the one-half). Do you have any other info on a straight-up Mystara or Known World article? That would be awesome! Or are you counting Red Steel and Hollow World as two, and Blackmoor as the half for Mystara's Blackmoor heritage?

I suspect that this may be my first Dragon purchase since shortly after the 3e debut, as well. :)

Is the ravenloft material from Sword and Sorcery's Ravenloft stuff?
Well the article is being written by David Noonan, so I doubt it.

As for 314.
I really liked the Salamander Ecology, but then again I happen to like all of the ecology articles.
The psionic preview does mention that the Expanded Psionics Handbook will have full PHB character writeouts for the Duergar, Thri-Kreen, Githzerai, Githyanki, and Half-Giants, plus some new ones. I don't see any mention of special halflings, but I might just be missing something.
