are they higher hd and abilities like the originals? ... how close are they to the 2e scro? or how different are they from orcs?

Hey don't get me wrong; I've been looking forward to the campaign classics for a while. However, I seriously doubt I'll incorporate Giff into my Eberron Age of Worms campaign anytime soon.

After the Player's Guide in January there's a huge gap before WotC releases Secrets of Xen'drik in July. Will we see anything cool in Dungeon or Dragon during that time to satisfy Eberron fans?

I think the article choices for #340 are bad. If you have a homebrew campaign you can always incorporate stuff from Eberron, Forgotten Realms or Greyhawk because it's your world. If you're running Eberron, Forgotten Realms or Greyhawk you and your players are probably looking for a consistent game environment. There's plenty of elbow room for the imagination, but the constellations and moons? It would be far better to expand on canon in established realms rather than create something few people are asking for.

No need to worry, Eberron has not be cut from the magazine. We have some more conent coming up in the next few months. As for the articles in issue 340, we have taken care to make sure that these articles can be useful to DMs of any campaign. After all, there is a lot of room in the sky for additional constellations if your DM decides to add some, or the rules and content presented could be easily adapted to the existing cosmology of your campaign.

I want more massive articles on specific deities. My Boccob magazine needs a friend.

What if a non-Dragonmarked house suddenly started producing cannons and firearms? House Cannith might have a problem with that, in fact all the houses might.

A group of PCs from different houses might be sent to investigate and the path might lead to a crashed ship unlike any elemental-bound craft ever seen. The survivors of the crash are Giff and they are being forced to "share" their knowledge.

I'm sorry to see they made nagpas a template because that indicates they're going with the Mystara MC's "cursed wizard" origin for them instead of the "endlessly reincarnating diaspora from a cursed nation" origin from Bruce Heard's beautiful Princess Ark article.

I'm curious about how high-level the Athasian Sorcerer-Kings are.

And yeah, looking forward to the Planescape article.
