Dragon 371 Table of Contents

There is a great myconoid creation on these forums somewhere. Cool abilities, decent fluff. There is also one that I've skimmed that is a playble race (one that has come out from the depths and has different plant abilities). I'd recommend finding either.

I've always liked myconoids. I'm not sure the PCs in my group do after the session before last....
If it's the one that was featured on the front page as "fan creation of the day" or whatever, then I saw it. The thing is, I just don't see myconids in the vast majority of classes. Clerics, maybe. But myconid warlords? Paladins? Rogues? Wizards? What I recall reading about myconids is that while they're intelligent, they don't have cultural advancements like writing or weapons...it'd be like trying to make a PC out of a dolphin. In 3.5, monsters could be played as classes unto themselves after a fashion, but in 4e, a PC race has to fit into PC classes.

I ike the idea of mushroom people. Truthfuly though, it's been a while since the last time I looked at a myconid entry in any MM for any edition.

I'm not sure why, but the idea of a mushroom samuari just seems cool. :p
