Erika Ishii is fun news! It'd be hard to play Rook as anyone other than a chaos monster with her voice.

It's a good list though I was saddened to realize Alex Jordan is doing one of his English accents, not his Mr Hands voice, because a Mr Hands-style voice would have been tremendous for something like this.

Anything that makes Solas upset, is good.
I dunno. He locked away the elves gods because they were a bunch of jerks. He specifically says the “blighted” elves gods. And then we see a bunch of dragons. I wonder if interrupting Solas’ ritual awoke all the remaining archdemons, which would lead to a blight to end all blights! (How many are left after the fifth blight, three?)

Anything that gives dwarves magic powers, is going to make me highly suspect whether anyone has read the world lore.
If Harding can paralyze darkspawn then something has clearly changed! She even says “What is happening to me?” so it’s clearly meant to be a change, not just a “we didn’t know dwarves couldn’t do magic” thing.

Maybe the Veil itself is what has been stopping dwarves from doing magic.

If done right, this could be a really cool twist that doesn’t mean the devs aren’t familiar with world lore.

I’m now even more excited after watching that trailer.
I can’t decide if I’m more excited for this or Star Wars: Outlaws!

Based on the previews for Outlaws and what we've seen of this, it's definitely Dragon Effect: Mass Age for me. Almost every single multi-hour played preview of Outlaws seems to be somewhere between mildly critical and damning with faint praise. I expect it'll be a very pleasant but somewhat dull 7/10 game, which I buy on a deep sale a year after it comes out and have a pretty ok if forgettable time with!

Whereas DA:VG seems like it'll probably be a pretty goddamn cool story, and the real question will be, will the gameplay and characters be up to scratch? My hope is they are, because they've had a lot of time to work on the game, and it's apparently basically finished now, but they're polishing it until the release on the 31st of October. One thing that makes me very hopeful re: gameplay is them returning to fixed levels/areas, rather than having vast open areas. I worry slightly re: characters because like Andromeda, apparently the first person we recruit like, after the prologue, is a "Peebee-type character" (UGH NO WHY), which to me is like saying the first person we recruit is a "Jar-Jar-type character", but I am praying that this is merely an allusion to them having similar talents (i.e. unlocking mysterious ruins) rather than having similar personalities (Peebee being both obnoxious personality-wise and an awful person, never a great combo).

Given Star Wars is out in a couple of weeks and DA:VG not for two and a half months, at least they won't really be competing directly.
